Chapter 1

THE VISION

Chapter1

Before starting out in business you need to have a vision, an imaginative insight as to where you expect the business and yourself to be in five years.

Once formulated, you need to review the vision yearly.

If there is no vision, it is highly likely that the business will fail. To create a vision, get out of the office and find a neutral environment. Try expressing your vision by drawing what you believe your insight to be.

Many people believe pictures and diagrams express simply and concisely what it may require a thousand words to do.

Once you have a vision, write it down or hold onto the drawing.

The process has just begun.

It is imperative to review the vision yearly. All too often, I have seen business people unable to see the wood for the trees when they are too busy to do anything other than concentrate on day to day operations.

Everyone needs to stand back and objectively refocus on the vision to ensure they and their business are not going off on a tangent
